A Fayetteville man was charged Thursday with prostitution-related offenses.

Mark Anthony Ri'chard Brown, 29, of the 900 block of Hidden Creek Drive, is charged with promoting prostitution for profit and misdemeanor communicating threats.

The offenses occurred between Jan. 16 and Monday.

Brown transported a woman from Virginia to North Carolina, an arrest warrant said, and coerced her to meet with men and have sex with them. Brown allegedly pocketed the money she made.

He is accused of threatening to hit the woman if she refused to bring him the $100 she made from the meet-ups.

Bail was set at $50,000.
