International House of Rhode Island, 8 Stimson Ave., Providence, ihouseri.org, (401) 421-7181, will hold its annual Burns Night Supper on Friday, Jan. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m., to celebrate Scottish poet Robert Burns (1759-1796). The meal includes roast beef, haggis, neeps n' tatties (potatoes and turnips), Scotch broth, salmon, salad and shortbread. The procession of the haggis features live Scottish pipe music, Scottish songs and poetry by Burns. The cost is $15 for students, $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers. Call for reservations.

The Stone Soup Buffet and Food Drive will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, from noon to 1:30 p.m., at the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library, 35 Kingstown Rd., Narragansett. Listen to the classic children’s story "Stone Soup," then sample soups from local restaurants. Entry is free with the donation of a non-perishable food or personal care item.
