The city traffic police have made a few changes on Kamarajar Salai ahead of the Republic Day celebrations.

On January 26, vehicles will not be allowed to ply the Kamarajar Salai stretch from Lighthouse to the from 6 am to 10 am.
So, vehicles coming from Adyar towards to Broadway will be diverted on R K Mutt Road to Luz Corner to reach Broadway via Royapettah through Anna Salai. MTC buses, however, will be allowed upto Santhome High Road, after which they will have to take Kutchery Road to join Luz Church Road.
The 27D route buses will be diverted to V M Street and Sreenivasapuram to reach Foreshore Estate.
Similarly, 21G route buses going towards Gandhi statue will be diverted on Royapettah High Road to Anna Salai to reach Broadway.
Buses with 45B and 12G routes instead of taking Sivasamy Salai will reach Music Academy, Royapettah Hospital, Whites Road, Anna Salai to reach Wallajah Road, where the buses meant to go to Anna Square will be parked.
Vehicles using Dr R K Salai to reach Gandhi statue will be diverted at Natesan Road junction.
Buses towards Kamarajar Salai from Dr Natesan Salai, Dr Besant Salai and Avvai Shanmugam Salai junction will be diverted to Ice House. Similarly, buses coming from Parry’s Corner bus stand towards Kamarajar Salai will take the Reserve Bank subway to Raja Annamalai Mandram to reach Anna Salai, said sources from the traffic police.
