K. Padmakumar, who assumed charge as the new Transport Commissioner earlier this week, on Thursday directed Motor Vehicles Department officials to take strict action against the unruly behaviour of private bus workers towards students.
He was holding an interactive session with MVD officials within the Ernakulam Regional Transport Office limits.
Mr. Padmakumar asked officials to intensify enforcement measures so that students wree not turned away without being allowed entry into buses.
Heavy vehicles
Enforcement officials were also asked to sternly deal with heavy vehicles moving around with dangerously protruding articles.
Mr. Padmakumar also visited the site of the proposed automated testing track of the Motor Vehicles Department at Mattancherry.
