Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Thursday reported a 3 per cent rise in its net profit for the December quarter on higher sales volume compared to the same period last year, the company said in a release. Q3 net profit of the country's largest carmaker stood at Rs 1,799 crore while the operating profit rose by 26.7 per cent to Rs 2,348.8 crore. During the quarter, the company registered net sales of Rs 18,940 crore, up 13.9 per cent over the same period previous year. MSI sold a total of 431,112 vehicles in Q3, a growth of 11.3 per cent over the same period of the previous year. Sales in the domestic market stood at 400,586 units, a growth of 12.4 per cent. Exports were at 30,526 units.
