Padayatra crosses the 950-km mark

On the 71st day of his ongoing ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra,’ Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy covered several villages in the Nayudupeta and Venkatagiri areas in Nellore district on Thursday. Incidentally, the yatra crossed the 950-km mark.

Mr. Jagan began the yatra on Nayudupeta outskirts and covered Thummuru, Venkatagiri crossroads, Kothapeta, Punnepalli, Nemallapudi and Karabulavolu and Vaddepalem. It was concluded at Sagaturu village for the day.

En route, he kept interacting with elderly people, women and youth who narrated their woes and made representations.

At Vaddepalem, Mr. Jagan hoisted the party flag and unveiled a statue of his father and former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

He said that landmark programmes were launched under YSR’s leadership and that he would take steps for launching even greater welfare and developmental programmes after coming to power in the next elections.

Fee reimbursement

Stating that much more had to be done for betterment of the Backward Classes, he said that fee reimbursement would be promptly given for youngsters and ₹20,000 mess fee for their hostel stay.
