BJP MP urges them to help bridge the rich-poor gap

“The country has seen many changes, but the gap between the poor and rich has only widened,” said Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament Varun Gandhi.

When the Marathwada region was thirsting for drinking water, residents from other regions of Maharashtra were getting multi-storeyed buildings with swimming pools for every floor, he said. He was inaugurating the Youth Conclave for Nation Building at Vels University, Pallavaram, here on Thursday.

Mr. Gandhi urged the youth to come forward to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.

When farmers from Tamil Nadu were staging various kinds of protests on the streets of Delhi, the Assembly in the State was discussing the salary hike of its members, he charged. He cited examples of youth bringing changes in the lives of poor people from various regions of West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. “Older generations didn’t have internet and had to struggle hard to get basic rights,” he said.
