Brazing the Karnataka Bandh called over Mahadayi River water sharing by Kannada groups, BJP national president Amit Shah came down heavily on Siddaramaiah and the Congress Government in the State. Addressing the last leg of the rally of the BJP’s Parivarthana yatra led by BS Yeddyurappa in Mysuru on Thursday, Shah trained guns on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his attempt to thwart the rally and said Siddaramaiah had displayed Congress’ Emergency mindset.
He said the Congress cannot stop saffron party from forming next Government in State and accused Siddaramaiah for supporting the bandh to thwart party’s rally.
Amit Shah mocked Siddaramaiah and said, “In Karnataka, Siddaramaiah means corruption and corruption means Siddaramaiah.” He appealed to the people to “uproot” the “corrupt” Siddaramaiah-led Congress Government in the State.
The BJP chief added, “The Congress opposed the Triple Talaq Bill due to politics of appeasement but I want to assure Muslim sisters and mothers that the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are committed to passing this Bill to do justice to them,” he said.
“Congress fears BJP’s Parivartana Yatra, that’s why they are trying to stop Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally on 4th February and calling for a State shutdown,” Shah added.
He added his party’s Parivartana Yatra was meant to change the lives of the youth and to assure women in the State of their safety, while working to change the Government. He charged the ruling Congress of indulging in “obstructionist tactics,” but warned it that the “people of Karnataka have decided for ‘parivartana’ “.
He blasted the ruling Government for celebrating Tipu Jayanti in the State but said his party does not believe in creating rifts in society and follows Prime Minister’s “Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas” as the code of conduct.
Shah blamed Siddaramaiah for his silence on the issue of farmers’ deaths in the State which has failed to help the farmer’s causes.
