


Duaree Gallery---a newly established art hub at Dhanmondi 2 (at the 5th floor of Aarong, Science Lab junction) in the city has organised a group art exhibition featuring the artworks of eleven contemporary artists from different periods in the country. The exhibition will formally inaugurate on January 27 at 4:30pm and will continue till February 16.
Prominent architect and art critic Professor Shamsul Wares and Former Ambassador and Foreign Secretary Waliur Rahman will jointly inaugurate the show.
The group show has been dedicated to artists Aminul Islam, Syed Abdullah Khalid and Fokhrul Islam who have passed away in recent years.
Participating painters include established figures of the art arena like Monirul Islam, Abdus Shakoor Shah, Tajuddin Ahmed, Nasima Khanom Queenie, Mohammad Iqbal, Anisuzzaman Anis, Rashid Khan, Shahanoor Mamun, Kamruzzaman Sagor, Mohammad Razwanur Rahman and Sultan Ishtiaque.
The show has been curated by Takir Hossain.
Duaree's aim is to represent the wide range of mediums, styles and techniques that are being mastered by our veteran painters. Duaree's main objective is to promote Bangladeshi artists and arts at the global stage and also to target proper recognition of the talents in our country. The gallery invites well-known critics, historians, curators and painters as part of its initiatives. Regular exhibitions, discussions and workshops will also be vital part of the gallery's activities. The gallery wants both seasoned and upcoming artists to get the opportunity to exhibit, sell and discuss their works. At the gallery, viewers can browse through a wide selection of art, journals and literary publications.
