Normal life was affected in Ballari to some extent as there was mixed response to the bandh call on Thursday, while it remained unaffected in Koppal due to the lukewarm response.
Almost all shops and business establishments, theatres, petrol bunks, hotels and restaurants on the main roads remained closed. Some of the shops that were open also downed their shutters after the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists forced them to do so.
North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation buses remained off the road. However, movement of maxi cabs, autorickshaws and private vehicles remained unaffected.
In Koppal, normal life remained unaffected as there was lukewarm response to the bandh. Buses and other vehicles operated as usual and shops and business establishments did normal business. No untoward incidents were reported. The police had made elaborate bandobust arrangements.
