Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said the `One district One Product’ scheme would create over 20 Lakh jobs in the state and would help in stemming the migration of the unemployed youth from the state. CM said the proposed ‘UP Investors summit’ in February would bring fresh investment of Rs 2.5 lakh to 3 Lakh crore in the state.
Yogi Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh is the inheritor of the glorious legacy of the ancient saints, Sages, Mahatma Buddha, Jain Tirthankars and Ramayana where every region/ district has a unique identity in the form of traditional art and craft, skills and products. CM said the ODOP will go a long way in preserving the ancient and traditional arts and crafts of the state.
"The BJP had made a big issue out of the migration of the unemployed youth from the state. The BJP government is committed to address this problem. UP has huge potential for employment in traditional crafts and small industries but the previous government in the state never paid attention to it and nothing was done to promote the traditional crafts nor it was provided any platform, to develop’’, said the chief minister addressing the first UP Diwas function where the vice president M Venkiahnaidu formally launched the ODOP scheme.
"Our motto is to make UP a developed state, which has rich culture heritage and enough talent to catapult the state on top of the country The basic idea is to stop the migration of the youth to other states in search of employment and the government is working on the projects so that every youth get a job within the state as per his talent and capabilities’’, said the chief minister.
Referring to the Shilp Gram, the venue of the programme chief minister said `` the government officials had no idea about the future use of the Shilp Gram and thought it would be used as marriage hall. The shilp Gram would now be the hub of all the activities related to the ODOP, handicraft and MSME units’’. The shilp Gram is being developed by the state government at the capital cost of Rs 200 croree which is spread in 20 acres.
Chief minister said ``UP diwas is a moment of great pride for all of us as we would deliberate over the ancient culture and traditions to work out the new direction for the comprehensive development of the state by bringing all the stake holders on one platform’’. Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to the vice president M Venkiahnaidu for giving his consent to be the chief guest of the UP Diwas programme.
Chief Minister said during the last ten months of the BJP government, schemes worth Rs 80,000 crore have been launched for the agriculture sector and projects worth Rs 25,000 crore would be launched today. He said the state government has ensured round the clock power supply in the state.
"The government is making rapid strides for the development of the infrastructure in the state. The 340 Km long eight lane Poorvanchal expressway costing Rs 23,000 would be completed in next 24 months and the prime minister Narendra Modi would lay the foundation of the project in march next’’, announced the chief minister. CM said that his government has also taken up the development works in 1,655 villages which had been ignored by the previous governments in last 70 years and surprisingly they were not even enrolled in the electoral rolls.
On the Logo of UP Diwas CM said `` UP is the land of harmony and prosperity where of the total seven holy seven rivers two holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna flow from the state and six important Buddhist centers of pilgrimage are in UP. He said the origin of Jain Tirthankar tradition is in Ayodhya and the founder of Kriya Yog is Yogi Matsendranath is also from UP. He said Kabir was also born in UP and Meerut and Ballia are also min the state. The first battle of independence was launched from Meerut while Ballia had declared independence during the Second World War.
Yogi Adityanath also appreciated UP governor Ram Naik for promoting the idea to hold the foundation day of the state ``UP Diwas’ programme , which is being held for the first time after the state was constituted on January 24,1950.
The Industrial Development Commission (IDC) Anup Chandra Pandey said, ‘State government wants to help the district-specific industries and products gain national and international recognition through branding, marketing support and easy credit.'' UP is uniquely famous for product-specific traditional industrial hubs across 75 districts, including Varanasi (Banarasi silk saris), Bhadohi (carpets), Lucknow (chikan), Kanpur (tannery industry and leather goods), Agra (leather footwear), Aligarh (locks), Moradabad (brassware), Meerut (sports goods) and Saharanpur (wooden products).
