DHAKA: Dhaka Customs House Preventive Team detained a man along with around 40 gold bars, weighing about 4Kg and 460 grams, worth of Tk 2.32 crore, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The man, identified as Mostafa Kamal, a cleaner of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, was detained around 12:15am Thursday (January 25).
Dhaka Customs House Assistant Commissioner Saidul Islam told Banglanews that the gold bars were discovered from his shoes hidden inside.
Legal actions will be taken against him, he said.
