Customer favorites at the new restaurant include three egg omelettes and a wide array of sandwiches and specialty dinners.
Sali Mehmeti wanted to give his customers plenty of choices when he opened his new restaurant.
It’s evident from the menu. Whether you’re craving pasta, seafood or a good old fashioned American classic, you’ll find it at Sal’s Place.
“Everything here is homemade,” Mehmeti said. “The soups, all the gravies, all the homemade chili.
“ We make everything.”
Located at 2770 N. Dixie Hwy., Sal’s Place officially opened its doors on New Year’s Day.
The family restaurant is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays.
Mehmeti, a 34-year-old veteran of the food industry, stressed that his scratch- made menu is what sets his place apart amongst the crowd.
“I do all of my prep, I do all of my stuff,” Mehmeti said. “All of the food I cook it myself, the soups, the specials, all the sauces I make it myself. Even my gravies, everything is homemade and fresh.
“People like it. It’s hard work, but you have to make people happy.”
Though they’ve been open only for a few weeks, Sal’s Place is already doing a good business. Mehmeti said that his three egg omelettes and expansive array of sandwiches and specialty dinners are already customer favorites.
“We are busy,” Mehmeti said. “People are starting to come back, they’re writing good things on Facebook. Everybody is happy, everybody loves the food.
“Everything is good.”
