Wednesday, January 24

11.30pm: Philippe Coutinho has confided in his Barcelona team-mates that Neymar is set to join fierce rivals Real Madrid.

Speculation around the PSG star's future has been constant amid rumours that he wants to leave the club following fallouts with Edinson Cavani and Unai Emery.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has made it clear that he wants to bring Neymar to the Bernabeu as he seeks several ‘Galactico’ signings.

And according to Don Balon, Neymar informed Barca new boy Coutinho that Madrid is going to be his next club.

The former Santos star is also willing to take a pay cut to return to La Liga.

10pm: Leicester striker Islam Slimani has teased Chelsea fans about a potential move to the Premier League champions.

Slimani has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this month as Chelsea continue their hunt for a new striker.

And the Algeria international has tonight added fuel to the fire by attending Chelsea’s Carabao Cup semi-final with Arsenal.

The 28-year-old posted a couple of pictures from the stands at the Emirates Stadium on his Instagram story.

Chelsea, who started without a recognised striker, went 1-0 up in the second leg but went on to lose the fixture 2-1.

9.25pm: Alejandro Moreno thinks Edin Dzeko will be a good signing for Chelsea.

He said on ESPN FC: “It’s a hit and it’s a hit for many different reasons not because Batshuayi may be leaving or not.

“I think independently of that the fact you have had some struggles from Alvaro Morata it makes sense for Chelsea to go after Edin Dzeko.

“He’s a player who has scored in the past in the Premier League, has played in the league, knows the Premier League very well and has done well at Roma.

“Coming back to Chelsea I think makes a whole lot of sense for Chelsea.

“I don’t know that they really think Morata will be the long-term solution and for right now they need someone who can score.

“Morata’s not doing it, maybe Dzeko provides the competition that Morata needs, maybe he provides the goals, in whichever case I think Chelsea wins out. This is a hit for me.”

8.45pm: Borussia Dortmund have rejected an Arsenal offer in excess of £50m for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Sky Sports say the Bundesliga giants are still holding out for more cash from the Gunners.

Club supremos have jetted to Germany to try and get a deal done.

German daily Sport Bild claim a deal is on course be struck by the end of the week though.

A hefty €60m (£52m) to €65m (£56.5m) fee is estimated by the newspaper.

8.10pm: Arsenal are closing in on Jonny Evans as they continue to strengthen ahead of next Wednesday’s transfer deadline.

The West Brom centre-half has been tracked since last summer by the Gunners and Manchester City.

But Pep Guardiola appears to have turned his attention to Athletic Bilbao star Aymeric Laporte.

As a result, Arsenal now have a clean run at Evans, and according to the Daily Mail, he is open to moving to London.

West Brom know they can lose their star man for just £3m if they are relegated and are prepared to sell this week.

7.20pm: Manchester City could be set to swap Sergio Aguero for Antoine Griezmann next summer.

That’s according to The Sun, who claim City and Atletico Madrid have opened discreet talks over the stunning transfer.

It is said that La Liga giants Atletico have sounded out Aguero over a surprise return to Spain at the end of the season.

Atletico are keen to partner Aguero with former Chelsea forward Diego Costa next season knowing that Griezmann wants to leave.

Pep Guardiola does not want to see the Argentine go but is keen on Griezmann and The Sun say an exchange deal could be on.

The French superstar has a £85m buy-out clause this summer while City value Aguero at around £60m.

6.45pm: Manchester United have cooled their interest in Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, handing Chelsea the initiative.

Following the decision to extend Shaw’s contract another year, it has now been reported that the Red Devils have dropped their interest in Sandro.

The Manchester Evening News have revealed that thanks to the resurgence in form of Shaw and Young, the Europa League champions are not considering alternatives at the moment.

Chelsea tried to sign the left-back in the summer but were unable to get a deal over the line.

Juve were asking for a fee of between £60m and £70m, leading to the Premier League champions pulling out of a deal.

6pm: Chelsea and Roma have agreed a deal which will see Edin Dzeko make a switch to Stamford Bridge.

The former Manchester City man looks like he is on his way to the club before the transfer window slams shut.

The Blues have yet to come to an agreement with the player and his representatives though.

Dzeko’s team-mate, Brazilian left-back Emerson Palmieri, is also set to join Chelsea in a double deal.

Antonio Conte already added Ross Barkley to his squad earlier this month from Everton.

5.25pm: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is wanted by Arsenal before the transfer window slams shut and reports suggest the move is getting ever closer.

The Gunners are looking for a big signing after losing Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United earlier this week.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan did move to the Emirates in the swap deal but Arsene Wenger wants to strengthen even further.

German outlet Bild have asked Aubameyang if he is making a transfer to Arsenal.

But the Gabon international refused to answer and sped off in his Lamborghini Aventador supercar.

4.50pm: Gareth Bale has blocked a mega transfer to Bayern Munich after they made an £86m bid for the Real Madrid ace, according to reports in Spain.

The Wales international is expected to leave the Bernabeu in the summer after struggling with injuries throughout his time at the club.

Manchester United, Chelsea and former side Tottenham are all interested in signing Bale.

And Don Balon claim the 28-year-old is only willing to leave Real for the Premier League this summer.

That’s why he has rejected the chance to join Bundesliga giants Bayern.

4.20pm: Manchester United are closer than ever to signing Mesut Ozil from Arsenal, according to the bookies.

BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: “Manchester United’s odds of completing a deal for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil have fallen amid reports that the Gunners are unwilling to meet Ozil’s wage demands.

“The German midfielder is now at 7/1 to move to Old Trafford.

“Ozil is out of contract at the end of the season and United have already completed a deal for his now former teammate Alexis Sanchez, whose contract was also set to come to an end this summer.

“Real Madrid (20/1) and Paris Saint-Germain (25/1) will look to Ozil should a move to United fail to materialise, although their lengthy odds suggest that Ozil is likely to remain in the Premier League, with Old Trafford his most likely destination.”

3.50pm: Luis Suarez has told Lionel Messi he’s got offers on the table from the MLS.

The duo are close pals and Suarez has informed his team-mate that ambitious US-based teams are ready to try and coax him Stateside.

However, according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, he’s informed his suitors that he’s not willing to leave La Liga yet.

Suarez has been a standout campaigner for Barca since signing from Liverpool in 2014.

3.10pm: Arsenal could have a deal done for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by the end of the week.

The Gunners want the Borussia Dortmund star as Alexis Sanchez’s replacement at the Emirates.

A delegation of Arsenal top brass has flown to Germany to try and strike a deal for the Gabon striker.

And newspaper Sport Bild claim a deal is on course be struck by the end of the week.

A transfer fee of €60m (£52m) to €65m (£56.5m) is estimated by the publication.

2.40pm: Edin Dzeko is demanding a long-term contract at Chelsea.

The Roma star has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.

Antonio Conte is desperate to sign a target man, with Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch and Ashley Barnes all targeted this transfer window.

Dzeko now tops Conte’s wish list, with the Roma star’s agent currently in London to finalise a deal, which could go through tomorrow.

However, according to the Evening Standard, Dzeko’s personal terms are an issue.

The 31-year-old has over two years remaining on his current Roma deal and he wants Chelsea to at least match it.

2.10pm: Manchester United want Arsenal star Mesut Ozil after signing Alexis Sanchez this month.

The Germany international is out of contract in the summer and the playmaker can leave on a free transfer - or for a cut-price fee this month.

And according to The Independent, Jose Mourinho is keen to sign Ozil, who he managed during his time at Real Madrid.

However, they add that Ozil will demand around £300,000-a-week to move to Old Trafford to link up with his former boss.

Sanchez will pocket around £500,000-a-week at United under Mourinho, making him the highest paid player ever in English football.

1.40pm: Liverpool have an agreement in place to sign Monaco sensation Thomas Lemar.

The France international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months.

Liverpool and Arsenal were in for the winger in the summer, with Manchester United also being credited with interest in the 22-year-old.

Both the Gunners and the Reds tabled bids for Lemar but the forward snubbed interest from the Prem big boys and opted to stay in Ligue 1.

And according to Yahoo Sport journalist Duncan Castles, Liverpool have an agreement in place with Lemar to move to Anfield.

However, the Reds are currently refusing to meet Monaco’s asking price of at least £88m (€100m).
