BILLINGS — The Montana State Billings baseball team was picked second in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll.
The Yellowjackets (23-29, 21-19) have qualified for the conference tournament the last three seasons, winning GNAC regular-season titles in 2014 and 2015.
Western Oregon was picked to repeat as league champion. The Wolves won both the regular season and tournament titles last spring.
MSUB returns the most starters of any team in the league and have nine transfers this season. The Yellowjackets won 9 of their last 11 games in 2017.
Senior Ryan Myers earned honorable mention all-region and second-team all-GNAC honors in 2017, batting .300 with 11 home runs and 39 RBIs. Junior Jalen Garcia and sophomore Caje Golden were second-team all-conference selections. Garcia batted .327 while Golden appeared in all but two games at shortstop.
