Exhale Innovations Worldwide Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture with Exhale Fans LLC USA, plans to raise production capacity of bladeless ceiling fans more than 10-fold by December 2018, a top company official said.
“Recently, we commenced producing bladeless ceiling fans at our facility near Sriperumbudur,” said Siddhartha Khatri, director, Exhale Innovations. “During January-March period we will produce 2,800 units per month and this will be scaled up to 32,000 units by December.”
The Chennai-based firm was set up with an investment of ₹10 crore.
According to Mr. Khatri, the target segment for bladeless ceiling fans are restaurants, hotels, schools, colleges, corporate offices, hospitals, airports and green buildings. The company expects to sell half its output to commercial and residential sectors. “Balance 50% will be exported to West Asia, Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, U.S., Russia and Europe. We will be taking the help of our partner, as we don’t have certain certification. To begin with, we will start exporting 10 containers of ceiling fans,” he said.
On Thursday, Richard W Halsall, Chief Executive Officer, Exhale Fans LLC, unveiled the bladeless ceiling fans with fully dimmable LED lights. It will be priced at ₹20,000 per unit plus GST. Many more models will be introduced soon, he added.
