Pennsylvania’s Victory Brewing Co. delivers a burst of summer peach flavor in this Belgian-inspired wheat ale.
Peach Belgian Blonde is No. 6 in the brewer’s Blackboard series of creative quaffs that include riffs on a Berliner weisse with elderflower, and a chocolate-and-cherry flavored stout.
Peach Belgian Blonde begins with a base inspired by a Belgian golden ale brewed to 7.5 percent alcohol by volume. Victory adds a bit of coriander to spice things up, along with a dose of wheat, as if to pay homage to the classic Belgian wit, or white wheat ale.
The whole lot is infused with peach, but the beer finishes fairly dry and not too sweet. Seek it out at ABC Fine Wine & Spirits in south Lakeland.
