Priyanka Chopra’s second Hollywood venture A Kid Like Jake premiered at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival yesterday. The actress stars in a supporting role along with Octavia Spencer in this movie about a kid with gender identity issue. At the press conference of the film, Oscar winner Octavia spoke fondly of our desi girl. She called her co-star ‘superwoman’ and was left amazed by her ability to constantly travel.
Fans of Priyanka know very well that she has mastered the art of sleeping during flights. In 2015, she constantly travelled between LA and India when she shot for Quantico during the weekdays and for Bajirao Mastani during the weekends. Well, she is continuing the hectic lifestyle. Octavia revealed that Priyanka accompanied them on the first day of the festival, then flew back to shoot for Quantico season 3, then returned to Sundance for the press meet and then flew back again. “She is like superwoman”, Octavia praised Priyanka. A Kid Like Jake screening received a phenomenal response at the Sundance film festival. The movie stars Jim Parsons and Claire Danes in lead roles. In the film, Priyanka plays the role of a single parent whose kid befriends another kid with gender identity issue. Talking about the film, Priyanka has said in an interview, “The world is in a place where we feel comfortable where we put everything in a box. Everything can’t be put into a box, especially when it comes to something as relevant and as topical and as unspoken as a gender issue.”
Apart from A Kid Like Jake, Priyanka will also be seen in the Hollywood film Isn’t it Romantic. The third season of Quantico is also slated to premiere later this year.
