The Chase fans slam ITV show as Bradley Walsh reveals 'WRONG' answer: 'Erm no!'
THE CHASE fans were not too impressed with host Bradley Walsh today, with a Star Wars question prompting much debate online.
Tonight’s episode of The Chase saw the final three contestants struggling to build their steps before the final chase.
However a Star Wars question sent fans on Twitter into a frenzy, as a debate sparked over the correct answer.
Bradley Walsh asked the trio: “In Star Wars, Shmi Skywalker is the mother of which character?”
To which contestant Oliver answered: “Luke,” which was incorrect.

However, the controversy began over Bradley’s apparently correct answer: "Darth Vader."
Fans immediately ran to Twitter to explain how the “correct” answer was wrong.
Viewers began by correcting the host, with one fan noting: “#thechase the #starwars answer to who was Shmi the mother of would have been Anakin Skywalker not Darth Vader (although he does become him later).”
“Anakin Skywalker IS Darth Vader. #TheChase,” one commented.

Shmi was the mother of anakin skywalker, not darth Vader #TheChase
Another Star Wars fan chimed in: “The Chase got a Star Wars answer slightly wrong there #TheChase,” with another explaining: “Darth Vader? Erm, no! It was Anikin Skywalker. She was dead before he became Darth Vader. @ITVChase #thechase. (sic)”
Some fans even attempted to explain the mix up to other viewers, with one saying: “Shmi was the mother of anakin skywalker, not darth Vader #TheChase.”
Another said: “#thechase Shmi Skywalker was who's mum? You're both wrong. It's not Luke, it's not Vader, it's Anakin. And in the same episode where @thevixen didn't know Michael Corleone. My inner geek is disappointed.”
The moment came after the team lost one member in the cash builder round.

Unfortunately the team didn’t win the final chase, with Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan catching them.
This week, viewers also saw another contestant on The Chase forget his wife’s name, much to Bradley’s surprise.
