Officials have suspended ferry service on San Juan Islands routes after a car plunged off a dock at Anacortes.

Washington State Ferries said the vehicle, a Jeep, drove through a traffic barrier and into the water Thursday morning. Divers were responding.

All ferry service in and out of Anacortes was halted. The ferry Elwha returned riders to Shaw and Orcas Islands, while the ferry Yakima was held at Friday Harbor on San Juan Island.

The ferry Tillikum is continuing to make inter-island runs.
