Every Premier League team ranked by how lucky they have been this season

BETSTARS have created an algorithm to work out exactly how lucky each club has been this season - giving them a score out of 10, with 10 being the most lucky.

“Mauricio Pellegrino’s struggling Southampton the unluckiest team in the Premier League this season”

The bookies have ranked every Premier League club based on their luck for this season, taking five factors into account.

The first factor is the proportion of shot that have hit the woodwork compared to their opponents.

The second factor is how often each team has played opponents who have been missing key players.

The third is the percentage of poor chances (long range, speculative efforts) that a team have scored compared to the proportion they have conceded.

The fourth is the proportion of minutes teams have played against 10 men or nine men compared to how often they have seen players sent off themselves.

And finally the number of penalties teams have won and how many they’ve conceded compared to the number of penalty box entries.

The results make for fascinating reading, with Mauricio Pellegrino’s struggling Southampton the unluckiest team in the league this season.
