It’s too bad that Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph is hurting this week and can’t show off his skills at the Senior Bowl.

In a class where it feels like every top quarterback has some major flaws, I think Rudolph’s arm and accuracy might have separated him for a move up the charts.

Two theories with the Cleveland Browns and fixing their anemic offense. The Browns could do their due diligence and take the quarterback they feel is the best at No. 1 or No. 4 and take Penn State running back Saquon Barkley at the other spot. Quarterback of the future and impact back in one hour.

But another theory that isn’t half-bad would be to do great research and find out which quarterbacks you feel strongest about and take two. Take Josh Allen of Wyoming at No.1 and either Sam Darnold of USC or Josh Rosen of UCLA at No. 4. Double your chances of finding that franchise quarterback and let competition sort out which one is actually the best. The Robert Griffin/Kirk Cousins plan 2.0.

I can’t imagine Wichita Falls’ J.T. Barrett going before the third day. My hope is that he goes to a team which wants to keep three quarterbacks. I’ve seen some compare him to Drew Brees, the future Hall of Famer with the Saints who saw Barrett break many of his Big Ten records. But I see Barrett as more like Colt McCoy.

Walterfootball.com has Barrett ranked 19th among quarterbacks which would be seventh round or a free agent pickup. Baker Mayfield is fifth, Rudolph seventh, Tech’s Nic Shimonek 11th and TCU’s Kenny Hill 17th.

Many mock drafts have Darnold first, Rosen second and Josh Allen third. I obviously didn’t watch many Wyoming games but Allen intrigues me.

I’m pretty sure there’s a franchise quarterback or two in this draft, but it seems really hard to figure out which who will be that guy and who will land in the XFL.
