Two billion users will see major changes as part of what the social network has planned to address growing controversy over the role it plays in people's lives and in society. Time
Do you use Facebook to stay informed about Willamette Valley news and to read or watch interesting stories? You're not alone -- the Pew Research Center says about two-thirds of adults get their news from social media.
But there are changes coming to Facebook that could mean fewer news stories from Statesman Journal will show up in your News Feed. Mark Zuckerberg recently posted that fewer posts from pages will be visible in the new version of the social media platform's algorithm.
You can do something about it, though. Here's how to adjust your settings to still see the news that's important to you from Statesman Journal, Our Oregon Outdoors, Statesman Journal Sports, the Stayton Mail, the Silverton Appeal Tribune and posts from other pages:

1. Select the three-line menu in the bottom right-hand corner of the app.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the menu and select "Settings."
3. Select "News Feed Preferences."

5. Select the pages and profiles you want to see appear first in your news feed, including Statesman Journal. The pages and profiles you select will show a blue badge with a star.
