Blake Griffin was hit with a technical foul late in the Clippers' loss to the Celtics on Wednesday after he chucked a ball at a referee's ankles.

Griffin still managed to blame the official over the mishap.

The incident sparked when a clearly frustrated Griffin grabbed hold of a dead ball before a Celtics inbounds. Instead of simply tossing the ball to the official, Griffin fired a low fastball that went by the ref and into the crowd.

Griffin was deservedly T'd up for the errant pass. But when the ref got closer, Griffin blamed the ref's poor catching abilities for a possible fine coming Griffin's way.

"Now I gotta pay money because you can't (expletive) catch," Griffin could be heard saying.

It would have been one thing had Griffin's throw actually been catchable. This pass was not, and Griffin knew it. He can't expect a referee to dive at that throw. As funny as Griffin's response was, he clearly was in the wrong there.

The Celtics went on to win, 113-102.
