The 23-year-old is one match away from his first ever Grand Slam final.
And, according to defending champion Federer, he will never have a chance like this again.
The Brit faces world No.6, Marin Cilic this morning.
And five-time winner Federer said: “It’s a good situation to be.
“He can hit freely now with no expectations whatsoever. He’ll maybe never be in this position ever again - to have so little expectation.

“Even though you’re young, first time in the semis, you’re like, ‘I’m going to tear this place into pieces, I’ve got incredible power right now’.
“It should be very interesting.”
If the Yorkshireman does pull off another giant-killing after beating world No.3 Grigor Dimitrov in the quarters, Federer believes anything can happen.
At 36 and with his 19 Grand Slam titles Federer is the elder statesman of the tour but takes a keen interest in the younger generation coming through.
He recalls watching Edmund struggle last year, failing to close out tight matches, but has been impressed by the way the world No.49 has turned his game around.
“I remember by chance watching his match against Jack Sock in Paris on the outside court when he led 4-0 in the third set,” said. “He made a mess of it.”
Sock went on to win the Paris Masters 1000 title, break into the world’s top 10 and qualify for the ATP World Tour Finals in London.
And Federer added: “It’s nice to see the turnaround from Kyle through the off-season.
“Coming here, playing well. It’s big for him, because losing those types of matches, seeing what Jack Sock ends up doing, it kind of hurts in some ways. At the same time it makes you believe.
“It’s nice to see. It teaches a good lesson to a lot of the other players, that if you stick around, good things happen. Great, great effort. I’m very happy for him.”
If Edmund makes it, Federer is likely to be the man standing in his way.
The Swiss steamrollered his way over Tomas Berdych 7-6, 6-3, 6-4 to set up a last four clash with surprise semi-finalist Hyeon Chung, 21, of South Korea.
