Teenage mother says her child was killed

Police have launched an investigation into the alleged murder of a 45-day-old infant in Ma Oya, Laggala.

The mother of the victim, a 17-year-old woman had disclosed these details to the Dambulla Headquarters' Inspector last night (Jan. 24).

She had said that her husband and mother-in-law were responsible for the crime.

According to her, the body of the infant was buried in a jungle.

Now Laggala Police has launched an operation to locate the body of the infant.

Police have also arrested the father and his mother for committing the crime.
