Is the XFL coming back? If so, former Highlands High School and University of Kentucky standout Jared Lorenzen wants in on the action.
In advance of a 3 p.m. Thursday announcement by Vince McMahon expected to reveal that the XFL is returning after a 17-year hiatus, Lorenzen hinted via Twitter at a comeback:
It's not the first time Lorenzen - who embraces his "Hefty Lefty" nickname - has lobbied tongue in cheek for a QB job. In December, he Tweeted that he was ready to help the Philadelphia Eagles after Carson Wentz suffered a season-ending ACL injury.
Lorenzen was a backup quarterback for the New York Giants from 2004 to 2007.
In 2014, Lorenzen suggested he could be the Arizona Cardinals' quarterback with Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton injured.
Lorenzen said in July of last year that he hopes the Jared Lorenzen Project he launched - after he surpassed 500 pounds - will inspire others to manage their weight and take care of their bodies. He is working with YMCA of Cincinnati in his "Get Fit With Jared Bootcamp!"
