Hockey: Evan Vassilovski nets hat trick in Wayland victory

Joe Lyons had an assist and scored two goals, including the go-ahead goal with four minutes left in the game.

Mike Jones and Mike Boschetto both had a goal and two assists and Aiden Chitkara had four assists for Wayland.

Wayland led 5-2 in the third period, allowed three unanswered goals, and countered with two late goals in the win.

“Fortunately our seniors pulled guys together and we refocused and got the sixth and seventh [goals]," Wayland coach Rian Murray said. “A win is a win.”

Nick Ramm scored two goals, and Camm Sullivan and Jon Rodenbush each had a goal and an assist for Westborough.

Wayland plays at Lowell on Sunday at 4 p.m. Westborough hosts Nashoba on Saturday at 8 p.m.

HUDSON 2, LEOMINSTER 0: Junior Ryan Gonzalez made 27 saves for his second straight shutout of Leominster as Hudson (5-3-4, 3-1-3 QC) scored twice in the third period to blank the visiting Blue Devils in a Quinn Conference game at the New England Sports Center of Marlborough.

Lally scored a goal with 9:03 left in the third on assists from Phil Werner and Brad Connor. Bryce Miranda sealed the win on an empty-net goal with 36 seconds left.

Gonzalez was in net last Saturday when the Hawks shut out Leominster 5-0.

Hudson hosts Shrewsbury at the New England Sports Center on Wednesday in a non-league game at 4 p.m.

HOLLISTON 4, ASHLAND 1: Senior Tim Ringie had a goal and an assist as Holliston (10-2-1, 8-1-1 TVL) had a balanced attack in a win over Ashland (5-6-2, 3-5-2 TVL) in a Tri-Valley League contest.

Senior Jack Wilkie and sophomore Jackson Goughan scored one goal each, with Goughan’s being the first of his career. Senior Jack Larche had two assists. Freshman Nico Quatromoni had 21 saves.

Ashland hosts Medway on Saturday at 6:20 p.m. Holliston hosts Dedham on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.

HOPKINTON 5, DOVER-SHERBORN 1: Will Abbott scored two goals and added one assist for Hopkinton (10-1-1, 8-1-1 TVL) in a win over Dover-Sherborn (5-6-2, 3-5-2 TVL) in a Tri-Valley League game.

Steve Simoes had one goal and two assists and Hunter Temple and Connor Delaney each scored for Hopkinton.

Dylan O’Leary had 14 saves for Hopkinton.
