A Sioux Falls woman has been charged with her first DUI after crashing into a west-side auto body shop.
At about 11 a.m. Wednesday, police arrived at Billion Car Care Center, 5100 W. 12th St., where a Chevrolet Tahoe had crashed into the front lobby. The driver, 26-year-old Ashley Brower, was arrested for reckless driving, driving without a license, failure to maintain financial responsibility and driving under the influence.
Two children under the age of three were inside the SUV and were taken to a local hospital. Capt. Loren McManus said the children have been given to a family member.
Detectives believe Brower was under the influence of a drug, but are awaiting verification. Damage to the building is estimated at around $100,000.
