Endurance racing takes to the track this weekend with the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Racing won't be the only thing for Volusia and Flagler county residents to spend their time doing though: a Mardi Gras dog parade comes to downtown DeLand and theater productions continue across the area.

Here are eight things to do this week:

The Rolex 24

The 56th Rolex 24 At Daytona starts at 2:40 p.m. Saturday and continues until 2:40 p.m. Sunday at Daytona International Speedway, 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd.

Saturday night at the World Center of Racing includes the band The World Famous Trans Ams performing from 8 to 10 p.m. followed by karaoke on the main stage from 10:30 p.m. to midnight. Fireworks are set for 11 p.m.

Mardi Gras on MainStreet Dog Parade

Hollywood Hounds is the theme for the Mardi Gras dog parade taking Woodland Boulevard in downtown DeLand on Saturday.

M.C. Escher art in DeLand

The work of graphic artist M.C. Escher — possibly requiring a second, closer look — is on display at the downtown location of the Museum of Art - DeLand, 100 N. Woodland Blvd.

A $20 opening night reception is from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Normal hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Thursday; 1-4 p.m. Sunday.

The Ultimate Tribute to Elvis

Finalists from the annual Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest take the stage at Flagler Auditorium, 5500 E. State Road 100, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Fabulous Hubcaps

Rock 'n' roll group The Fabulous Hubcaps takes the stage at 7 p.m. Friday at the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, 399 N. U.S. Highway 1.

Moonrise at the Beach

Visitors to Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area, 3100 S. Ocean Shore Blvd., Flagler Beach, will be able to watch the moon rise at the beach and learn about the moon and the coastal ecosystem on Wednesday.

The event is at 6 p.m. and included with park admission.

'Aladdin, Jr.'

Continuing through Feb. 4, a live version of the 1992 Disney film brings Agrabah to downtown DeLand's Athens Theatre, 124 N. Florida Ave.

Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays as well as 2:30 p.m. Sundays.

'Smokey Joe's Cafe'

Nearly 40 songs will be featured in this showcase of duo Jerry Leiber and Mike Stroller, the writers of songs like "Hound Dog" and "Yackety Yak."

Running at Flagler Playhouse, 301 E. Moody Blvd., Bunnell, through Feb. 4, showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays as well as 2 p.m. Sundays.
