PUBG has a problem with cheaters. We all know it. We even encountered one on our livestream. But anti-cheat measures are being implemented to stamp out this behaviour and ban players who are spoiling the fun for the rest of us.
The current test build of the game will be moving to the live servers on PC, according to a Tweet from the official PUBG account - and a lengthier update over on Steam details that new security measures are a part of this patch.
PC players, we will be moving the current test build to our live servers on Jan 24 6PM PST/ Jan 25 3AM CET / 11AM KST. The maintenance is expected to last for 2 hours.

The Steam post reads: "We will also be testing a new security (anti-cheat) measure that is still under development but we want to start gathering some data regarding it's stability and compatibility."
Over on the test servers, the new anti-cheat measures may have caused some PCs to crash due to "compatibility issues" during the test, but presumably this has been fixed for the roll out, as the update stated that once the "changes on the test servers are evaluated to be stable, they will be applied to the live servers."
So far, over 100,000 players have been permanently banned from the game as a consequence of cheating.
Other changes in this update include adding multiple pre-match starting locations to improve server and game client performance, general bug fixes, and the addition of Russian, Japanese, and Chinese fonts.
