Q: A recent question was about binding old Bibles. I might can help. — D.F., Fayetteville

A: D.F. says she has done this for the library and is beginning a book repair service in Fayetteville.

As for costs, she says, it is “hard to know how much a cost is until we see the Bible and what it will take to repair it. You can give out my number, 910-484-5120, and ask people to leave a message as I am out a lot. I will call them back. I have done this for a time for the people at Village Baptist. I’ve decided to start doing it for the public as there seems to be a need.”

Q: When will the paving on Owen Drive be completed? At Boone Trail and Village Drive, there is a drop off that knocks cars out of alignment. This needs to be taken care of immediately. — P.G., Fayetteville

A: North Carolina Department of Transportation spokesman Andrew Barksdale said the final layer of asphalt cannot be placed until the temperatures are consistently warming, beginning in March.

"The drop-off that the reader is describing is where the lanes don’t have a final layer of pavement," Barksdale said. "The drop-off is about 1.5 inches. Until we can place the final layer of asphalt, we’ll put out signs telling people there is a bump."
