1. Valentines for veterans: The public is invited to make Valentine’s cards for veterans this weekend at Cross Creek Mall. The Red Cross Youth Group will be in the food court from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday for the public to stop in and make the cards. The cards will be distributed to local veterans.
2. The Soiree: Studio 25: The Partnership for Children of Cumberland County will celebrate 25 years with its annual fundraiser, The Soiree: Studio 25. The event, scheduled for March 10 at the Crown Arena, is billed as the funkiest disco party of the year. Tickets are $100 and are expected to go on sale next week. The sponsorship deadline is Feb. 15. The event includes a benefit auction, dance competition, costume contest and more. For more information, contact the Partnership for Children at 867-9700.
3. Rockefeller House tours: Carvers Creek State Park, 2505 Long Valley Road in Spring Lake, hosts tours of the historic property on Friday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tours are free, but participants must sign up ahead of time. Call 436-4681 to register or go to ncparks.gov for more information.
4. Chocolate and Wine Walk: The event is Feb. 3 in Pinehurst. The Family Chocolate Festival is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with activities for the whole family.
