Have questions about recertifying your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential? Twice a month, the SHRM Certification team members will answer some of the frequently asked questions they receive from certification holders.

Q: Can SHRM certificants claim professional development credits (PDCs) on the SHRM Certification Portal for educational activities that do not have an associated SHRM Activity ID?

A: Yes. SHRM certificants can manually enter PDCs in the Portal for eligible educational activities (those that are aligned to the SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge) and those that did not have a SHRM Activity ID assigned to them.

It is important to retain documentation for all recertification activities, particularly those that did not have an assigned SHRM Activity ID. In case there is a recertification audit, this documentation can be used by the SHRM certificant to demonstrate participation, content eligibility and time spent in the activity to support the number of PDCs claimed.
