GIRLS BASKETBALL

GLENOAK 52, GREEN 43 Micah Rhodes scored 16 points as GlenOak earned a Federal League win over Green at home. Erica Warren also had six points and 10 rebounds for the Golden Eagles. Jenna Trainer scored 16 points for Green.

 

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 55, BRECKSVILLE 39 Ashley Schott and Addey Blakeney scored 15 points to lead the Crusaders to their third win of the season. Blakeney also grabbed 10 rebounds for Central, which used a 22-10 run in the fourth quarter to pull away.

 

MASSILLON 58, TALLMADGE 28 Kaylee Pierce scored 16 points for Massillon to lead the Tigers to a win. Tamia Ridley and Anika Dansby added 12 points each for Massillon. The Tigers jumped out to a 16-5 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

 

MINERVA 52, ST. THOMAS AQUINAS 42 Katie Hiestand scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for St. Thomas Aquinas but the Knights fell on the road. Nelle Yankovich was the leading scorer for Minerva with 17 points. Lauren Frigyes also had 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds for the Lions.

 

CANTON SOUTH 44, KENT ROOSEVELT 40 Megan Mitchell scored 16 points and Brooke Noll finished with 14 as the Wildcats came from behind to beat the Rough Riders. Canton South outscored Kent Roosevelt 20-10 in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback. Noll also grabbed 17 rebounds for the Wildcats.

 

CARROLLTON 84, ALLIANCE 37 Mikayla Poole scored 26 points and Cailee Husted finished with 21 to lead the Warriors past the Aviators in a Northeastern Buckeye Conference game.

 

NORTHWEST 30, CVCA 28 Lauren Spradling scored seven points for Northwest as the Indians edged CVCA.

 

ROOTSTOWN 51, EAST CANTON 46 Savannah Yacklin scored her 1,000th career point for East Canton but the Wizards fell at home. Yacklin scored a team-high 17 points for East Canton. Mary Reichard also had 12 points for the Wizards. Madison Moneypenny had 15 points to lead Rootstown.

 

FAIRLESS 57, MANCHESTER 50 Keaten Spencer scored 15 points to help Fairless to a PAC-7 win over Manchester. Madison Reese also had 14 points for the Falcons. Jordan Campbell scored a game-high 21 points for Manchester.

 

TUSLAW 48, TRIWAY 45 Majestic Sales poured in 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the Mustangs’ PAC-7 win over the Titans. Triway outscored Tuslaw 27-13 in the third quarter to get within a point before the Mustangs held on in a defensive final period.

 

MALVERN 52, STRASBURG 32 Kelsi Hulit and Jazmariah Moore scored 20 points apiece to power the Hornets past the Tigers in an Inter-Valley Conference matchup. Hulit also grabbed eight rebounds for Malvern.

 

TUSKY VALLEY 54, SANDY VALLEY 30 Tusky Valley jumped out to 22-5 lead after the first quarter and Sandy Valley could not recover as the Cardinals fell at home. Kierrah Stewart led the Trojans with 16 points. Boston McKinney added 13 points for Tusky Valley. Abby Dillon also had 10 points for the Trojans. Karlee Altimore had 12 points to lead Sandy Valley.
