KMP president dies while speaking at seminar

Hameed Kandak, vice-president of Muslim Central Committee, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi collapsed and died while speaking at a seminar in a hotel here on Wednesday.

He (aged about 70) is survived by wife, five sons and a daughter.

The Dakshina Kannada unit of the AHINDA had organised the seminar on judiciary and importance of the Constitution. Mr. Kandak was the fifth speaker at the seminar. Though he was taken to a hospital immediately the hospital declared him as brought dead.

He was president of Karnataka Muslim Parishat (KMP) and was an office bearer of many organisations including the Central Market Merchants’ Association, Beary Parishat, Haj Committee and the like.
