Youths were washing car using water gushing from pipeline

Four people injured when two cars collided on Panvel-Uran road on Wednesday at 1 p.m. near Chinchpada in Panvel. The injured have been identified as Saroj Rauf Naaz (49), Rauf Abdul Naaz (59), Yaseen Pathan (20) and Abdul Shaikh (20).

Students of Bance College in Panvel, Mr. Pathan and Mr. Shaikh were travelling with their college-mates Shaikh Faiz (20), Munaf Shaikh (20) and Saifali Shaikh (20). The five youngsters were heading towards Panvel when they spotted water gushing out of a damaged pipeline by the road.

A police officer at Panvel police station said that the youngsters hit upon a plan to get their car washed using the water jetting out of the pipeline on to the busy road. The youths began driving their car up and down the road to get their car cleaned.

The police said that the Naaz couple was heading towards Uran and both cars collided. The office said, “The potholes on the road led the drivers to lose control of their vehicles.”
