Drive to check illegal migrants suspended in Jiribam: JCILPS
Nagaland Post | Imphal, Jan 20 (
Jiribam branch of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) Saturday expressed concern over suspension of police drive to check entry of illegal migrants into the state in Jiribam district.
Manipur government had put police in Jiribam district on alert to prevent possible spillover of illegal migrants into the state in view of the publication of the first draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam.
Special teams, led by officers in the rank of Assistant Commandant or Additional Senior SPs, have been deployed at Jiribam Babupara Bazar and along the Barak river bordering Assam and Mizoram.
