Real’s woeful season continued after they were humbled by Leganes at the Bernabeu.
Los Blancos held a 1-0 lead heading into the second leg but Javi Eraso’s long-range effort stunned the home crowd into silence.
Karim Benzema managed to restore Real’s one-goal lead on aggregate just after half-time.
But Leganes pegged Real back almost instantly when Gabriel rose highest from a corner.
And, with Real unable to find another way through their rigid defence, Leganes record a stunning victory courtesy of the away-goals rule.
It is yet another blow to Zidane, who has all-but given up on his hopes of retaining the La Liga title.
Their only chance of silverware is now in the Champions League, where they face Paris Saint-Germain in the next round.
But Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim Perez has already made his decision on Zidane and wants him out of the club.
