A section of SH1 on the Kapiti Coast has been closed after a crash.

Police said a man has moderate injuries after a car rolled south of Battle Hill just after 7am.

The highway was closed near the intersection with Paekakariki Hill Rd.

Fire and emergency services are at the crash.
