Taking preventive measures ahead of the release of film Padmaavat, Ranchi Police have beefed up security arrangements in and around film theatres and multiplexes deploying magistrates to maintain law and order after the release of the film on Thursday. Ranchi Police have warned those who have been protesting against the release of the film not to get indulged in any kind of unlawful activities or action will be taken against them.

“This is my appeal to the people not to get afraid of any kind of rumours and discharge their day to day activities as usual without any doubt in their minds as nobody’s fundamental rights will be allowed to be violated by anybody. Those who will found indulged in any kind of unlawful activity disturbing the law and order, strict action will be taken against them,” said Ranchi SSP Kuldeep Dwivedi. All Police Stations have been alerted and patrolling has been intensified around the film theaters, he added.

“The Fire tenders have also been asked to be prepared for any untoward incident,” said the SSP.

Taking preventive action, District Administration has deputed nine Magistrates and  four Zonal Magistrates for different film theaters. The Film is being released at Fun Cinemas, Eyelex Cinema, SRS, Plaza Cinema, PVR Cinema, Plaza Cinema, Carnival Cinema, Sujata Picture Palace, Pop Corn and Minkshi Cinema. Ranchi Police taking preventive measures have initiated procedures under section 107 and action will be taken against those found disturbing law and order.

Quick Response teams have also been formed to deal with any exigency.

Taking strong note of the fact that the ‘Karni Sena’ activists had compelled to sign an agreement on January 21 by the film theater management stating they themselves will be responsible for any kind of ruckus or sabotage during the show of the film ‘Padmaavat,’ action has been taken against at least 6-7 persons under Dhurwa Police Station.

In addition to that, an alert has also been sounded by the Police Headquarters to all districts directing them to take precautionary measures in this regard.
