The US state department is said to have placed Siddhartha Dhar on the global list, along with Abdelatif Gaini, for joining the radical Islamic cult in the Middle East.

Dhar was on bail for terrorism offences when he secretly moved to Syria with his family, escaping the eyes of the UK authorities.

A statement from the US Government said they believed “Dhar was now a leading member of the now-defunct terrorist organisation Al-Muhajiroun.

The statement said: “He is considered to have replaced Mohammad Emwazi, the ISIS executioner also known as Jihadi John.

“Dhar is believed to be the masked leader who appeared in a January 2016 ISIS video of the execution of several prisoners who Isis accused of spying for the UK.”

Also known as Abu Rumasayah, and nicknamed “Jihadi Sid”, Dhar appeared in ISIS propaganda videos once he arrived in the self declared Islamic State.

In one sick video, the terrorist wore a mask as he executed “British spies”.

The ten minute clip saw the men, wearing orange jumpsuits similar to those worn by US prisoners, confess to passing on information about ISIS to the UK and its allies.

The US statement went on to say that both Dhar and Gaini were believed to “have committed, or pose a significant risk of committing acts of terrorism.”

Jihadi Sid was arrested in the UK in September 2014 on terrorism charges but in a major blunder, he was later able to escape to France before travelling to the Middle East.

Just hours after being released on bail Dhar caught a bus with his family to Paris.

The terrorist then taunted the police by uploading photos boasting of his new life on Twitter.

Dhar posted pictures of him holding an AK-47 assault rifle while also posing with his baby son.

In the months leading up to his arrest in 2014 Jihadi Sid was accused of burning poppies, used as a sign of remembrance of dead British soldiers, and calling for Islamic law to be imposed in the UK.
