Fayetteville, N.C. — A single-vehicle wreck snarled traffic Wednesday morning on Interstate 95 in Fayetteville, officials said.
Fayetteville police said the driver of a van lost control of his vehicle around 8:30 a.m. and crashed into a tree near Exit 49. The driver, who was not identified, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in serious condition.
All southbound lanes were closed Wednesday morning, but one lane opened before 11 a.m. Traffic was still backed up in the area.
Authorities expected the right lane to be closed until noon.
