EARLIER: Leslie Nelson, the man accused to fatally shooting his elderly mother, took the stand Wednesday morning to testify during his trial.
The trial is on day three of testimony before the jury. They will soon weigh whether to convict Nelson of first degree felony murder.
Nelson testified about his mother, 94-year-old Vivian Nelson, being in pain, her deteriorating health and her being placed in and out of hospice care.
He also testified that he doesn't remember much of the events of the day of the alleged murder, including shooting his mother.
"Did you shoot your mother?" Nelson's attorney asked him before the court.
"I believe so, but I do not remember doing so," Nelson replied.
Nelson stepped off the stand after completing testimony around 11:30 a.m.
