Missing girl’s father masqueraded as Spaniard in M'sia, says Argentine

KUALA LUMPUR: The mother of missing seven-year-old Argentine girl Alum Langone Avalos has said that her natural father, 41-year-old musician Jorge Gabriel Langone, has masqueraded himself as a Spaniard in Malaysia.

Alexandra Avalos, 27, said at a press conference at the Argentine Embassy here today that she spoke with several locals in Kuala Pilah and got to know that Langone branded his family as a Spanish family and that Alum had even attended a kindergarten here for 10 days.

She is in Malaysia looking for her daughter, who was reportedly missing since June last year.

Avalos said she left Alum's father, Langone, after years of alleged abuse. She said Langone turned up at Alum's school in Argentina hours before the court granted her full custody.

She said Langone and another woman named Candela Soledad Gutierrez then brought Alum to Bolivia and later to Malaysia.

Avalos, who arrived here two weeks ago, subsequently contacted the Argentine Embassy here, which reached out to police and the Immigration Department.

Argentine ambassador to Malaysia Manuel Balaguer Salas who was also present at the media conference said that our authorities had informed them that Langone, Alum and Candela had entered the country illegally through the Johor border.

"The Interpol had issued a red alert for the couple. We hope to pick them up soon," he added.

The trio were last seen in December last year in Kuala Pilah, and were said to have been heading to Kulai.

Avalos is appealing to authorities for new information about Alum. "I want nothing to do with him (Langone) anymore. As for Alum, I can only hope she knows that I am looking for her. I will never stop looking for her and I love her very much," she said.
