MCM sweeps Titan quadrangular

MOUNT VERNON — McCook Central/Montrose made it a clean sweep Tuesday at the Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney quadrangular, winning three duals in high school wrestling action.

The Fighting Cougars took down Marion/Freeman 60-6, the host Titans 38-30 and Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 48-30. In other duals, B/A-H defeated MVPCS 58-15 and Marion/Freeman 57-15. MVPCS won the dual against Marion/Freeman 30-18.

For the Fighting Cougars, the match with B/A-H turned with pins by Jacobi Krouse (128), Paul Lauck (145), Parker Scheier (152) and Jacob Cheeseman (160). Tanner Grocott (195) and Colin Rief (285) sealed the dual late with pins, as well. Tanner Peterson had a pin for MCM at 182 in the win over Marion/Freeman and Cheeseman and Rief led MCM past MVPCS in that dual.

The Titans picked up pins from Griffen Tobin (106), Hunter Pranger (138) and Thomas Baker (160) against MCM and Baker and Pranger recorded falls against B/A-H, as well.

Marion/Freeman's Ethan Ortman (126) recorded a pin against MVPCS, along with Clayton Smith (182). Daniel Cremer (132) had a pin against B/A-H for the Rebels.
