Samsung Engineering wins US$436 mln plant order in Thailand

SEOUL, Jan. 24 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Engineering Co. said Wednesday it has received a US$436 million order to build a petrochemical plant in Thailand by 2020.

PTT Global Chemical Public Co., a Thailand state-owned petrochemical and refining company, placed the order at a consortium led by the Korean plant builder, Samsung Engineering said in a regulatory filing.

Samsung Engineering will build the plant on an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning lump-sum turnkey basis by Dec. 1, 2020. The plant will have a production capacity of 500,000 tons of ethylene and 250,000 tons of propylene, it said.
