Diehard Eagles fan Mike Trout, a baseball superstar in the offseason, isn’t sure if he’ll attend the Super Bowl in Minneapolis, where his team opposes the hated New England Patriots. But wherever the pride of Millville, N.J. takes in the game, it will be in the same outfit that helped the Eagles rout the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC title game last Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. Including the mask.

Pat Speaks: Meehan tells his side of harassment claim

U.S. Rep. Patrick Meehan for the first time Tuesday spoke out about allegations that he used office funds to settle a sexual harassment complaint from a former staffer last year. “I never in any way made any kind of pass towards her, I never discussed anything about wanting any kind of a further relationship, she’s never alleged anything like that,” said Meehan, R-7 of Chadds Ford. “There was no touching of any sort.”

Great Valley grad gets invite to appear again on Jeopardy

On the TV show Jeopardy, imprecise wordings are rare. But the unclear wording of a Final Jeopardy answer was good fortune for a Great Valley High School grad who earlier this month appeared on the show. And because of it, she has been invited back to the show in April to compete again.

Norristown Area School District announces preliminary budget with no tax increase

In what Norristown Area School District CFO Anne Rohricht called “a pretty ambitious venture,” administrators — at the school board’s request — have presented a proposed preliminary budget for the 2018-2019 school year with no tax increase. Rohricht made the announcement at the Norristown Area School Board of Directors meeting Monday night.

Elderly driver killed in Route 422 crash in Exeter Township

An 88-year-old Berks County woman was killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on eastbound Route 422. The highway was closed for about three hours Tuesday while authorities investigated the accident. Police did not release the name of the victim but said she was from Mount Penn. The driver of the other vehicle, a pickup truck, was from Exeter Township. She was not injured.

Lansdale skate park surroundings being refined, could include path, berms, shade, seating

The final design of Lansdale’s planned skate park is coming even more clearly into focus, and so is the view neighbors will see. “It’s nice to see the whole environment, and see how the project really fits into it. I’ve been waiting since 1998 for this,” said skater Justin Mondschein.

Villanova isn’t Guard U anymore. Oh, the top-ranked Wildcats are loaded in the backcourt, as usual. There’s Jalen Brunson, one of the leading candidates for national Player of the Year honors, and Mikal Bridges, the reigning co-defensive Player of the Year in the Big East.

Konecny scores in OT, lifts Flyers to 3-2 win over Red Wings

Travis Konecny gracefully got his skates to the blue line, carried the puck into the middle of the right circle and sent a wrist shot to the back of the net. Konecny’s goal 27 seconds into overtime lifting the Flyers to a 3-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings Tuesday night. “It was 100-percent onside,” Detroit coach Jeff Blashill said. “Konecny made a heck of a play to stay onside and the linesman made a heck of a call.”
