1&1 Versatel expands fibre network in Hamburg, Freiburg

German ISP 1&1 Versatel announced it has begun works to connect businesses in Freiburg and the Bresigau-Hochschwarzwald district as well as companies in the Stenzelring, Schlinckstrasse and Bonneweg sections of the Port of Hamburg to its broadband network. Additional parts of the Port of Hamburg will be connection to 1&1 Versatel’s network in the future thanks to upgrades at the Stenzelring areal, said 1&1 Versatel.

Companies in these areas will receive an FTTH connection with internet speed of up to 100 Gbps when the upgrades are complete. 1&1 Versatel said it is assuming the costs for the engineering works, the home connection as well as the installation and activation of the technical equipment in both cases.
