Thank You for Your Service

Dear Diary:

I was walking to work on 54th Street and First Avenue when I saw a young woman in a full Army uniform coming toward me.

I stopped.

“Thank you for your service,” I said.

She started to laugh.

“Oh no,” she said. “I’m not in the military. I’m an actress and we are filming a scene for the show ‘Homeland.’”
